As requested in the previous semester's reflection, please state your intended major and emphasis area.
-
I am a Bachelor of Fine Arts candidate with an emphasis in either illustration or graphic design

Identify the most valuable seminar assignment for you this semester and the least valuable. Please provide a brief explanation of your choices.
-
The most valuable seminar assignment to me was learning about my creative voice, and how I am going to express that so people can hear me and remember me. The least valuable seminar assignment was the story chain. I did not understand the purpose of, besides maybe understanding more about you and where you come from.

Describe your most significant experience(s) from this year (fall and spring semesters). These experiences may be related to this course, your other foundation studio courses, or maybe from another academic area or extracurricular activity. Avoid thinking about finished artworks (that's the next question) and instead think about events, processes, “ah-ha!” moments, or any other experience that helped you grow or learn more about yourself this year.

I had never done anything huge in 3D, so learning how to build things from imagination into the real world was so much fun and it was extremely helpful to learn. It was extremely helpful to learn because as an artist who mainly draws in 2D, you don’t focus on how the object your drawing looks from behind, you're just focused on the front. So 3D has really helped me.

Review all of your digital sketchbook entries for Foundations Studios A-D. What project are you most proud of? Why? What project was the most challenging or pushed your comfort zone the most? Why? If you did not find anything challenging, you can alternatively describe an experience where you were able to grow as a leader through mentoring another student who was challenged. Are there any projects that you look forward to pursuing further in another course?
-
The work I'm most proud of is the Stop motion and rotoscoping animation I did in Studio D. It really opened my eyes to what I can do with motion and how I can use it to project my ideas out into the world for people to see. I would say the same piece of artwork was the most challenging. It took so long to do and I really had to learn patience with myself, but it turned out just how I wanted it to in the end. I look forward to pursuing more 2D works and 4D works. I plan to even do some over the summer.

University life is very different from high school or other community college experiences. You are free to make independent choices on how you use your time, decide when to show up for class, if you will complete homework on time, what events take priority in your life, and even what time to go to bed. Critique your performance as a student over the past year. What did you do well? What skills do you need to work on? What barriers, if any, are standing in the way of your success? What are some ideas you have to overcome them? What resources do you still need? You may get an email from me with further guidance based on your responses.
-
I am very satisfied with how I have done in my first year of college. I do think that I need to work on pushing through the tiredness more often, and not wanting to do homework more. I believe that the barriers that are holding me back from succeeding are my phone. I just now started to push my phone as far away across the room as I can so I can focus on homework and not a notification.

Give yourself an art assignment for the summer and describe what you plan to do.
-
Over the summer, I plan to study color theory and work with oil pastels to help practice with colors. I also plan to work on perception of landscapes as I am not confident in that skill yet. I also am planning on working on some charcoal drawings, and character design for my upcoming comic.
