ABIGAIL HESS (she/her/hers) is a self-taught, American visual artist who specializes in illustration and storytelling. Being homeschooled since eighth through twelfth grade, she found her art teachers through a variety of artists’ videos on the internet. She is a recipient of the Windgate Scholarship. Her preferred medium is ink for best completing her style of comic like characters. Themes that she repeatedly incorporates in her artworks are independence, conflicting feelings, and fantasy. Currently, Abigail is working on a three-piece artwork that conveys the attack by temptation, the fight against it, and the victory that one can have over it. Currently, she is a full-time student at the University of Central Arkansas where she is studying art as a Bachelor of Fine Arts candidate with an emphasis in Illustration. As she has drawn for all of her life as a hobby, she plans to make this hobby into a life-time career.
